these texts are an archive of my life in the San Francisco Bay Area from march 2007 - march 2015. it stands as a record of close to a decade of my life, charting the struggles i faced as an artist, daughter, and lover. messy and chaotic at times, eloquent and poetic at others, these texts are an index i am proud of. it was here in this electric box that i learned how to be honest about my experiences and the person i needed to become. it was here that i first learned the truism that words make the world and how to trust such a beautiful, rife, hard fact.

thank you for meeting me here in such tall grass.

my artist website is here.

time

fall has arrived. cold mornings. a bit darker for a bit longer. and this yellow light. it is 1:30 in the afternoon and it looks like summer's 5 o'clock. a hard breeze is coming through, sending all the pine needles down like rain. it even sounds like rain. i am wearing a sweater. done painting for the day and ready to curl up with a drawing instead.

The weather definitely has changed its face. A week and a half ago I was laying out in the park by the Hudson River here in NYC in a bikini. Today I am indoors in 2 sweaters craving chili.

susan, totally! it's been such an odd back and forth the passed few weeks. one day, it seems like fall is here. the next, we've got 100 degree weather. i'm looking forward to it all evening out even though i'm definitely not a winter animal. ha! but i am making a sweater and looking forward to relishing in all the coziness autumn and winter force one to seek.

i haven't had chili in a lonnnnng time. that does sound good!
