these texts are an archive of my life in the San Francisco Bay Area from march 2007 - march 2015. it stands as a record of close to a decade of my life, charting the struggles i faced as an artist, daughter, and lover. messy and chaotic at times, eloquent and poetic at others, these texts are an index i am proud of. it was here in this electric box that i learned how to be honest about my experiences and the person i needed to become. it was here that i first learned the truism that words make the world and how to trust such a beautiful, rife, hard fact.

thank you for meeting me here in such tall grass.

my artist website is here.

Haunting, Angela.

I come to this Prudence Punderson having visited Maggie May's Flux Capacitator post in which she connects us to a blog about a family whose mother died two weeks after giving birth to her first daughter. She has also left a six and a half year old son and husband.

This image reminds me so much of the scenes in a book I own, called 'Secure the Shadow: death and photography in America' by Jay Ruby.

Ruby presents many scenes from the past in which American families have tried to memorialize the death of a loved one through photographs.

Here the memory is kept through art. Haunting.

thank you, elisabeth. i always love the comments you leave, the travels you take. they are exceptional. i will have to get that book!

i will keep that family in my heart. some pains never lessen, we only learn how to live with them... how to walk with a wound rather than be defeated by it.
