these texts are an archive of my life in the San Francisco Bay Area from march 2007 - march 2015. it stands as a record of close to a decade of my life, charting the struggles i faced as an artist, daughter, and lover. messy and chaotic at times, eloquent and poetic at others, these texts are an index i am proud of. it was here in this electric box that i learned how to be honest about my experiences and the person i needed to become. it was here that i first learned the truism that words make the world and how to trust such a beautiful, rife, hard fact.

thank you for meeting me here in such tall grass.

I find the pointed cone like heads amazing. Dress-ups from a bygone era. People long wanted to decorate their bodies it seems, another form of art. Thanks, Angela.

elisabeth, they are just so stunning! totally ART! and, when i look at these photos with my ArtEye on, i'm struck by how completely timeless these costumes are! they appear so current, so relevent, so so so beautiful. especially the final photo. i'm so happy you love them too. :)

these pictures are amazing! is that snow or ice encrusted on the man's costume in the last one? wonder if any of this symbolism has to do with being so close to the pole?

i see a kind of parallel between these costumes and your glaciers. the pointed caps, frozen landscape, reflections etc.

roz, thank you!!! i love your interpretation of these! the parallel between their costumes and a landscape! (there is a big lovely poetic metaphor in there!)

the 3rd photo is my favorite too. i hadn't seen it as ice, i thought they were tufts of feathers. but what a beautiful image you've conjured for me!

there's such a grace in these images, these people, this mode of clothing the body. they take my breath away.
