these texts are an archive of my life in the San Francisco Bay Area from march 2007 - march 2015. it stands as a record of close to a decade of my life, charting the struggles i faced as an artist, daughter, and lover. messy and chaotic at times, eloquent and poetic at others, these texts are an index i am proud of. it was here in this electric box that i learned how to be honest about my experiences and the person i needed to become. it was here that i first learned the truism that words make the world and how to trust such a beautiful, rife, hard fact.

thank you for meeting me here in such tall grass.

my artist website is here.

smear it

oil everywhere. fanatical. taken in. taken deep and getting lost. but that's how maps are made. stumble. stumble. stumble. it's still a procession. it still counts. i don't know the name of the road and so what.

hahaha! me too, elisabeth! me too! i was thinking about TIME. deciding not to allow it to rule me. agism and its nasty insidiousness. i turn 30 in september and i don't feel bad about it. my mind has made the leap away from thinking 30 is "old". it isn't old. i've decided to embrace MY timeline. i spent the entire day painting yesterday. destroyed the clock with oil. left the dishes in the sink, left the laundry in the basket, let the world spin by itself, and it felt WONDERFUL.
