these texts are an archive of my life in the San Francisco Bay Area from march 2007 - march 2015. it stands as a record of close to a decade of my life, charting the struggles i faced as an artist, daughter, and lover. messy and chaotic at times, eloquent and poetic at others, these texts are an index i am proud of. it was here in this electric box that i learned how to be honest about my experiences and the person i needed to become. it was here that i first learned the truism that words make the world and how to trust such a beautiful, rife, hard fact.

thank you for meeting me here in such tall grass.

and so it goes...

for the passed week i've been living inside this painting. i've been in it. and after taking a jog this morning, i realized it's time to step back. i'm too close to it to make any real judgement about what it is and is not doing- how it functions and what it needs. well, right now, today, i think it needs some breathing room. for however anxious i am to give it the title of 'done', i'm more concerned with being respectful of the process and giving each work the time it needs to whisper its wants to me. i've been on 10 hour days for a week and that should be more than enough to make me feel proud of myself. besides, it'd do me some good to get out of the house too. i need to track down a good pair of running shoes. this entire time, i've been doing The Jog in my trusty, old pair of hot pink converse. no good. and one of my ankles is beginning to feel a bit fucked up. just the excuse i need to walk away from the painting for a couple hours: shopping. :)

Get some cute Nikes, dear! I'm sure they have hot pink---I also bought my first adult pair of workout shoes last year...quite fun, actually!

Oh lady, don't run in converse. You'll end up with scar tissue and cramping feet like me and will have to go through the torture of "active release massage" which is one step below water boarding. Go to Sports Basement or On the Run and let the nice folks set up you. It might cost $60-$80 but your ankle will thank you.

i got a pair of bebe sport's that seem to have a pretty nice, thick tred. i think. i hope. but because their cute, i'm also now second guessing myself- hurt ankles is no no no good... and they're already starting to hurt. i think a cute pair of running shoes might, in fact, be a tall order. why do athletic shoes always have to be so damn ugly! arg.

p.s.

FYI bebe sport is NOT the brand you want if you're looking for a good pair of running shoes. definitely, definitely NOT! the effing converse feel better than these sparkly peices of shit! damn it! so there goes that money down the toilet! ARG! and that's what i get for not listening to reason and wanting to wear something cute while i jog. geez.
