these texts are an archive of my life in the San Francisco Bay Area from march 2007 - march 2015. it stands as a record of close to a decade of my life, charting the struggles i faced as an artist, daughter, and lover. messy and chaotic at times, eloquent and poetic at others, these texts are an index i am proud of. it was here in this electric box that i learned how to be honest about my experiences and the person i needed to become. it was here that i first learned the truism that words make the world and how to trust such a beautiful, rife, hard fact.

thank you for meeting me here in such tall grass.

my artist website is here.

me thinks the sweater makes the lass look a wee bit busty.

.

this is not necessarily a complaint.

i just can't seem to stop making sweaters. there's just something about it that suits my moment. they make me feel safe(r) somehow. it's reassuring and empowering that i can actually satisfy a basic need (clothing) with my own two hands.

That sweater is stunning. It makes you look both tender and intelligent. I love the photo up top left of mother and child and the glimpse of the giant school. This photo is one of my favorites of your self portraits.

oh love, thank you! it is instantly my favorite thing to wear! and thank you also for mentioning the photo. it's actually of me and my nephew when he was just a chubby little thing. such an angel. that photo is about 6 years old now. my nephew is 7. weird! but it is one of my favorite photos ever! i'm kissing his cheek and he's doing that wonderful hysterical baby giggle. :)

marta, thank you! practice, practice, practice! i've been stuck making scarves and potholders for a few years now so i'm happy to see my stitch work shifting to something a bit more interesting. ha!
