these texts are an archive of my life in the San Francisco Bay Area from march 2007 - march 2015. it stands as a record of close to a decade of my life, charting the struggles i faced as an artist, daughter, and lover. messy and chaotic at times, eloquent and poetic at others, these texts are an index i am proud of. it was here in this electric box that i learned how to be honest about my experiences and the person i needed to become. it was here that i first learned the truism that words make the world and how to trust such a beautiful, rife, hard fact.

thank you for meeting me here in such tall grass.

today, under a hard rain

killing kanoko. the gold cell and the blackest graphite. stained hands. hand to mouth. black lips black tongue Blackland. the title changes. the name of a place. territories and evidences. this land. this type. this time.

a hard rain.

rebecca! STUMBLE is perfect! :D

my breathe is gone too. she is such an amazing little angel. our little red coat, our little guide with broken nails and sparkling laugh. she makes my heart twist and hurt. i know you know.

and i know you know the Blackland too. i am not sad to be in it. and i'm glad you find your way to me there too. it is such a large expanse that it seems a mircle to me- bumping in to each other in such tall grass. :)

elisabeth, thank you. the day was perfect in its weather and activities yesterday. usually, so much rain makes me sad. yesterday, it fit so well with the scratch of pencil on paper and the shades of grey and black.
