i have circled back around to covering things in clouds. child-like and calming. this piece is a couple years old. i came across it while looking through my portfolio for something else. and what a happy surprise. it seems very much to be in the same vein as the recent alice drawings.
these texts are an archive of my life in the San Francisco Bay Area from march 2007 - march 2015. it stands as a record of close to a decade of my life, charting the struggles i faced as an artist, daughter, and lover. messy and chaotic at times, eloquent and poetic at others, these texts are an index i am proud of. it was here in this electric box that i learned how to be honest about my experiences and the person i needed to become. it was here that i first learned the truism that words make the world and how to trust such a beautiful, rife, hard fact.

It's wonderful to see that your ideas now are reflected in past thoughts and creations. Good for you.
it's totally interesting to see how long a particular symbol or image has been following you around. i remember drawing clouds all the time as a kid. and butterflies too. those were the two images i'd always draw. probably because they're easy shapes but still... it's comforting to see the clouds following me all around. :)
I love this, clouds are calming, yet mixed with the black overlaying, and the text, "I could sleep for a week", it rather takes on a darker tone. But I always like light mixed with dark, makes things interesting. :)
