i made coffee, lugged the canvas outside, and sat and stared at the thing for the first hour of my morning. i tried to find something to scrutinize but i just couldn't. and then that big, warm wave came. the one that whispers, "you're done. it's finished. now smile." haha! :)

wow, your work is just stunning!
yay! hi lisa! thank you so much! i love your paintings!. we've got that whole 'faceless' thing in common. i'm so glad to have stumbled across your work. :)
This is absolutely wonderful (and the colours look a tiny bit different for you-sort of bluish shadowy---maybe this takes place in the shadows, but during the day?).
The woman on the left is checking her pocket to make sure the key is still in it...no? :)
You'll like this word verification: winess (goddess of wine)
hahahaha! winess! i've been trying to cut back a wee bit on the chardonnay but i must say it's a challenge out this way. the stuff is everywhere. EVERYWHERE! and since most people who live here also work for a winery (or own one) wine is the preferred gift. every other minute someone shows up with a bottle... and of the GOOD stuff too. ahhhhhhh!
it is bluish. i used a different white this time AND a different black... well, a whole bunch of different blacks and whites really. i had a art-store shopping spree awhile back and finally got the opportunity to use some of the goods. vine black is my new favorite! and check this color name out- German Earth. ah. beautiful. but the white in this painting is good ol' titanium white. it's super cold when paired with such warm blacks. i normally run from blue but i like it in this painting. i'm glad you like it too! :)
